Covid, Races and Protest

                                                             Covid, Races and Protest

A new story is now written in this year of 2020. We did not just focus on the pandemic, but so many things have to happen from corona to police brutality against Black people to protest, races conflict and death of innocents people.

This video was taken this year after the death of George Floyd ( Black man) who dies after police officers kneeled on him while he was telling them he couldn’t breathe anymore. We went from virus to police brutality. This video was called as a protest ( response) to honor his death. Many fancy boutiques such as Gucci, Apple, Luis Vuitton, and more have been robbed. Some buildings have been burned. This called “protest” lasted for about 6 days, but later everything went back to normal. This does not mean everything was resolved, but a new peaceful protest to honor George Floyd was announced and so many people used the hashtag (#Black Lives Matter), as the marching slogan not just against police, but also against any racists. The protest was global. We have seen a protest in France, Belgium, London, South Korea, and many more. Now, what everyone was asking is whether we are still in a pandemic. We were supposed to be in quarantine and not outside crowded protesting. Police brutality did not just happen in the US, but also in Nigeria. The world may not realize that there was also a protest in a different part of the world because the country is not well known as the US. Protest against the SARS ( Special Anti-robbery Squad) in Nigerian was also against police hurting citizens and the world did not talk about it. Races conflict, police brutality, deaths of many innocents, and mass of protest happened  this period of Covid. Are we expecting more by the end of this year?
